The Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) is an entry-level certification that validates an individual's foundational knowledge and skills in either cybersecurity or networking. There are two tracks for the CCST exam:
CCST Cybersecurity: This track focuses on essential security principles, basic network security and endpoint security concepts, vulnerability assessment and risk management, and incident handling.
Cisco Certified Support Technician Cybersecurity
CCST Networking: This track covers fundamental networking concepts and topics, including standards and protocols, addressing and subnetting, endpoints and media types, network infrastructure, and troubleshooting.
Both exams are 50 minutes long and consist of multiple-choice and drag-and-drop questions. The passing score for each exam is 80%.
The CCST certification is a great way to start your career in IT or to validate your existing skills and knowledge. It is also a stepping stone to more advanced Cisco certifications, such as the CCNA and CyberOps Associate.
